Orange Custard Slice

Fantastic recipe to use up any leftover custard.


1 1/2 cups plain flour
1/2 cup icing sugar
150 grams unsalted butter, melted

400 grams extra thick custard (brandy flavour)
1 egg, beaten
Juice and grated zest of 1 orange
2 tablespoons plain flour
1 teaspoon baking powder

Line a 20 cm square baking dish with baking paper. You could also use a round cake tin if you like.

Preheat oven to 180 degrees celcius.

Stir together first three ingredients and press evenly into baking dish. Bake for 15 minutes.

Combine remaining ingredients in a bowl and beat well with a fork. Pour onto base and bake for 15 minutes or until set when shaken.

Cool. Melt 1 cup chocolate dark buttons and 2 tablespoons of olive oil at 30 second intervals in the microwave and spread on top.

Cut into squares and serve.
