Easiest Apple Pie Recipe

This is a great make-ahead dessert. You can the apple mixture a day before serving.

Ingredients:
5 granny smith apples
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup sultanas
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
 sheets puff pastry
1 egg, beaten
Sugar to decorate

Method:
Peel your apples. Cut them into a 1 cm dice. Add them to a medium sized saucepan, along with the remaining ingredients.

Place the stove on medium to low heat. Cook for 20 - 30 minutes, stirring occassionally. Allow to cool and then place the mixture in the fridge until you need it.

Preheat the oven to 190 degrees celcius. Line oven trays with baking paper.

Cut each sheet of puff pastry into 4 squares.

Place a spoonful if apple mixture on the pastry, brush the edge with egg and fold in half to make a triangle. 

Press the edges closed with a fork. Brush the top with egg and sprinkle with sugar. 

Pierce some holes in the top with a fork.

Place on the oven tray. Bake for 15 minutes or until the pastry is puffed and golden.

Serve with cream.
